Czech artisans Bara D. and Petra M, handcrafted this cocoon vase using light ceramic clay, painted with porcelain colored engobe on the outside and transparent glaze on the inside, and then fired it in a kiln at 2250°F at their studio in Prague.
Every dot, every imprint made by hands…
Petra (top left) is inspired by nature and mostly food, she explains: “Recently I was chopping a celery and suddenly a vase was born”.
Bara (top right) loves to work organically: “I love to work with porcelain as it easily twists and deforms. Shape is most important for me even if deformed.”
